For SS18, creative director Stuart Vevers continued to celebrate the brand’s all-American heritage in the form of prairie prints, biker and varsity silhouettes, but what’s different, is the dose of pop culture that gives the collection that amp-me-up. Collaborating with famed New York artist Keith Haring for the first time, the artist’s signature cheeky graphics were plastered onto varsity jackets, dresses and bags, pulled together with glitter and embellishment that radiate a youthful finish. Unexpected juxtapositions were in abundance in the collection—soft shearling jackets were given a contrast with glove-tanned leather panels, while pastel slip dresses were finished off with hardware for that slight edge. Aside from that, Stuart Vevers also brought back a piece from its archives; The Mailbox bag—first introduced in 1972 by Bonnie Cash for Coach—was reintroduced this season in different designs from plain leather to prairie prints.
