Cannes Film Festival 2025: All The Best Looks from the Red Carpet

It’s that time of year again—Cannes is back on the Riviera, all set for two weeks of film, fashion, and everything in between. Now in its 78th edition, the festival sees Juliette Binoche take on jury president duties, with highly anticipated new titles from Wes Anderson, Kristen Stewart, Harris Dickinson, and Spike Lee already generating excitement.

Off the silver screen, the red carpet is stirring conversation. Just days before the festivities began, organisers introduced a new dress code banning nudity and extravagant silhouettes with sweeping trains. Still, the fashion moments are rolling in, and a handful of looks have quickly emerged as early favourites.

At the opening ceremony, new narratives emerged through silhouette and colour. Halle Berry stunned in a striped Jacquemus trapeze dress, while Bella Hadid brought the heat in a black Saint Laurent gown, complete with a daring thigh-high slit and a cross-back—owning every inch of the look. Alessandra Ambrosio captivated in a stunning emerald Zuhair Murad dress detailed with ruffled sleeves, as Heidi Klum flourished in a soft pink-gradient Elie Saab gown, its organza petals whispering fairy-tale charm.

‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’ opened day two with Tom Cruise impeccably dressed by Giorgio Armani. Pom Klementieff opted for a lilac Loewe gown—one of Jonathan Anderson’s swan songs for the Spanish label—while Kim Go Eun embraced minimalist chic in a black Chanel jumpsuit.

Dior continues to make a statement on the red carpet, dressing a string of A-listers at this edition. At the premiere of ‘Die, My Love’, Robert Pattinson cut a sharp figure in a sleek tuxedo and silk bow tie, arriving alongside Jennifer Lawrence, who wore a white silk taffeta gown inspired by the house’s 1949 Poulenc design.

At ‘Eddington’, Natalie Portman’s voluminous gown in tulle and black velvet shimmered with silver scale embroidery, a tribute to the Mexico model from Dior’s Winter 1951 haute couture collection. Another standout was Pedro Pascal in a black laser-cut bar jacket, paired with wide-leg trousers featuring a subtle V detail at the back.

Elsewhere, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky made a stylish entrance at the ‘Highest 2 Lowest’ launch. Rihanna stunned in a blue cutout Alaïa dress, while Rocky impressed in a tailored Saint Laurent suit.

The Cannes magic carried on at the premiere of ‘The History of Sound’, where Elsa Hosk captivated in a vintage Mugler creation—a black optical-striped dress paired with a reversible velvet coat, a statement piece first worn by Claudia Schiffer in the ‘90s.

Also in attendance was Gracie Abrams, standing by her boyfriend, Paul Mescal, the film’s director. The American singer wore a little black Chanel dress with a halter neckline and a draped chiffon bodice, decorated with black crystals. Rounding out the evening was Aishwarya Rai, no stranger to the Cannes spotlight, draped in a classic white saree and adorned with exquisite high jewellery, masterfully designed by Manish Malhotra.

On the red carpet of ‘The Mastermind’, Simone Ashley brought classic glamour in a Vivienne Westwood corset gown from the Mumbai show, while Viola Davis made an electrifying impression in a custom neon green Gucci dress. Swipe to see the best fashion from Cannes this year.
