The Vogue Singapore Innovation Prize returns for its third instalment, extending its distinguished legacy of recognising and celebrating outstanding talent. If you need a refresher, the revolutionary initiative springs from The Vogue Singapore Foundation’s commitment to breaking down barriers to creative education while uplifting the ASEAN fashion industry.

One of the remarkable awardees in 2021 is Claudia Poh of Werable, who addresses the limited accessibility of designer goods for those with mobility issues by offering innovative ‘easy-to-wear’ styles. Meanwhile, Adrian Furstenburg and Viknish Krishnan-Kutty led the way last year with the invention of lab-grown exotic skins via ProjectEx to tackle the critical issue of the global luxury market’s need for exotic animal leather such as crocodile skins. The purpose of the foundation is clear—to empower budding designers and entrepreneurs so that they can leave an indelible mark on the global fashion landscape.

If you make the cut, you will have the privilege to participate in a two-day boot camp with seminars delivered by laureate speakers curated by the publication and a four-week mentorship programme with global industry leaders. During this period, you are expected to present refined business models that exhibit innovation and solve a real-world problem to a final jury. Among the notable speakers and jury members this time are Mark Guiducci, Creative Editorial Director of Vogue US, Caroline Rush, CEO of the British Fashion Council, and Sohee Park, Founder and Creative Director of Miss Sohee

And now for the exciting part—the prize! The winner will be awarded a monetary prize of SGD 15,000, media support on Vogue, first-hand input from global industry professionals, and introductions to possible investors for funding. So, what are you waiting for? This is your moment to shine.

This year is no exception, but with a twist as the Vogue Singapore Foundation teams up with BMW Group Asia, a pioneer in next-generation technologies. “Through the Vogue Singapore x BMW Innovation Prize, we aim to drive change for good by investing in the visionaries who are reimagining the future of fashion and empowering the next generation of entrepreneurial talent in the ASEAN fashion industry”, says Bettina von Schlippe, Publisher of Vogue Singapore. On this occasion, the leading partners are on the lookout for fashion entrepreneurs and businesses in three categories—businesses that ignite change to address major global concerns, embrace digital innovation, or promote sustainability and/or a circular economy.

And, for the first time, the Vogue Singapore x BMW Innovation Prize welcomes applications from all over ASEAN! You will have until August 6, 2023, to turn in your application, and eligible businesses must meet at least one of the three criteria, be in operation for at least two years, and be based mainly in the 11 countries in ASEAN.
