NYFW Men’s AW18: It’s all in the details

We’re now onto the final city on the Men’s Fashion Week AW18 roster, where style on the paved streets of New York City is a reflection of the concrete jungle’s urban-inspired, fashion-forward aesthetic. While we saw an amalgamation of oversized silhouettes and a louche, rock-star appeal (from Tom Ford, no less) on the runways, the street style folk had more to say in terms of dialing down to the nitty-gritty. A pop of colour, dash of texture, or perhaps a frenzied pairing of prints was all it took to garner a double take on the streets. Some were still riding high on the logomania bandwagon, whereas others took it upon themselves to pull off the most traffic-stopping looks with a mishmash of random motifs.

But one thing’s for sure—it’s all about the individual touch that gives these ensembles a star quality. Lessons to learn include: Cinch a belt around the waist over a coat for a defined silhouette, or wear a vintage fannypack over your chest instead of slinging it over your hips—it makes for easy access to your phone/wallet anyway. Peer closer to find out what the best parts of these OOTDs are, from scarf-wraparound-trousers to puffer jackets emblazoned with Renaissance-era prints:
