In a cool mix of old-world Hollywood glamour and the laid-back, sporty charm of Los Angeles, the Chanel Cruise 23/24 runway show took place against the iconic backdrop of Paramount Studios last May. Now, as the collection’s story unfolds even further, the French Maison unveils its campaign, immersing us in the vibrant Californian spirit of Venice Beach. Masterfully brought to life by the creative lens of the renowned photographic duo Inez & Vinoodh, the stunning visuals showcase the grace of models Anna Ewers and Loli Bahia, elegantly adorned in Chanel and embodying the very essence of the City of Angels.
The campaign captures the soul of California, bathed in the warm glow of the evening sunset, transitioning from spectrums of blue and orange skies into the mysterious night. This visual journey serves as a personal invitation from Virginie Viard, the Creative Director of Chanel, encouraging us to travel and dream big.
Drawing inspiration from Hollywood’s golden age of disco, Ewears wears a lamé top beneath a two-tone cardigan, while Bahia mesmerises in a jacket adorned with golden sequins, complemented by high-shine leather trousers. The collection unfolds with a jacket in iridescent pale yellow tweed paired with a pink and white long skirt, mini shorts, and a pastel tweed bustier worn beneath a coat, draped nonchalantly off the shoulders.
Paying homage to the Californian lifestyle, the collection seamlessly integrates sporty elements with hot pink, Barbie pink and black surfboards, and a basketball prominently featuring the iconic double C logo. These subtle nods further accentuate the athletic attitude that’s injected into the entire collection. Each image in this series emanates glamour, fun and sensuality, reminiscent of a portrait of Los Angeles.
The meticulously crafted pieces are now available in Chanel boutiques, including the newly opened The Exchange TRX . Check out all the runway looks here.
