From incorporating the fourth animal in the Chinese zodiac into their RTW collections to producing short films depicting the spirit of joy, take a look at our top picks of Chinese New Year campaigns by prominent fashion houses to get you into the festive spirit. 

 

Gucci

Gucci jumps on the bandwagon with its bright, vivacious capsule collection incorporating rabbit motifs that symbolise wisdom and longevity. In an aesthetically enchanting film directed by Max Siedentopf, the essence of the quirky collection is encapsulated when a group of friends dressed in patterned silk blouses stumbles upon rabbits in a field of flowers while anticipating the arrival of the Spring.

Burberry’s newest campaign, titled ‘Year of the Rabbit 2023’, invites you to explore the endless possibilities in life. In a film directed by Zika Liu, the ambitious spirit of the brand is portrayed by actors Qi Xi and Shi Pengyuan, as well as sportswoman Zhao Lina, who are on their journey to discover their calling. All are decked out in the limited-edition collection, which features Thomas Burberry emblems, reimagined with rabbit ears.

The lucky streak continues for Ferragamo with the launch of its exclusive capsule, featuring the luckiest animal in the Chinese zodiac. The white rabbit serves as the collection’s emblem, and its eyes enliven a sleek range of silhouettes and accessories. The key pieces for this line include silk foulards, shirts, low-top sneakers, and tiny leather goods in rich shades of red, blue, and white.
