Heavy wooden doors with handles in brushed brass lead to an expansive space where the latest from Polo Ralph Lauren is beautifully laid out every season. Last night, that space—which houses the newly launched Polo Ralph Lauren boutique in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur—was doused in merriment as invited guests poured in for ‘Buro 24/7 Malaysia x Polo Ralph Lauren’.

The main agenda on paper included a free and easy private shopping session and a styling segment conducted by our very own Fashion Editor, Jason Lim; but the fellowship amidst food, drinks, and racks of Polo Ralph Lauren’s Spring 2017 collection was the thread that strung the evening together.
Besides the munching and mingling, the brilliant part about being at an event held in store was rubbing shoulders with the apparel and accessories that the brand has to offer. Champagne glasses in hand, guests browsed through shelves of iconic Americana where denims, oxfords, and linens abound. Heritage is interwoven with modernity by way of innovative detailing and fabric manipulation. Signature pieces within the World of Polo such as the navy blazer, admiral jacket, and button-down shirt are reimagined with updated silhouettes and an athleisure leaning.

Bringing the night to its crescendo was the styling session where models paraded looks pulled from the Spring 2017 lineup while Jason expounded upon the hallmarks of the house and drew attention to the details of the ensembles featured. Guests seated on wooden benches that lined the intimate makeshift runway got a close-up view of the clothes on the body and in motion, allowing them to be inspired by new styling options or contemporary versions of well-loved classic pieces.
An OOTD contest ran throughout the evening—giving each person a chance to be a Polo Ralph Lauren model as they tried the collection on for size and snapped away on their respective smartphones. The night drew to an end as savoury bites turned to trays of desserts, empty bottles of Budweiser were retired from the grasp of the merry, and winners of the contest were announced and presented with exclusive Polo Ralph Lauren merchandise and gifts from Buro 24/7 Malaysia. No one was left empty-handed, of course—every guest went home with a token from both hosts as well.
As the crowds slowly dwindled and filtered out those heavy wooden doors, so concluded the night that began with #MeetMeAtPolo.
