The best of LFW SS19 day 3: Burberry’s lightweight scarves

At Riccardo Tisci’s debut collection for Burberry yesterday, the Italian designer rose to the occasion with a whopping 134 looks (for men and women), with a focus on revamping the heritage brand to appeal to both new (read: millennials with deep pockets) and existing customers. The house has always been known for its scarves—cashmere, Scottish-woven, and utterly luxurious to the touch. But for SS19, Tisci offered a new spin on pulling off Burberry’s lightweight, spring-worthy scarves. Instead of merely wearing it around your neck, as a hair accessory, or on your bag handles, loop and knot it in your drawstring trousers as a belt. Tisci also proposed a unique way of incorporating it in the house’s iconic scarves—by tailoring it as side seams of said coats, giving it a distinctive, cape-like effect (albeit, a shortened version instead). If you’re inspired to pull this off, you might be inclined to shop it now here.
