5 New bags to cop in October 2020—from Longchamp, Coach, Furla and more

From the launch of the Gucci Jackie bag in July to the Bvlgari x Ambush bag in September, the past few months have seen an array of arm candies that are making waves internationally. This month, aside from brand new bags, our list below includes updated favourites and limited-edition capsule collections that are not to be missed.

These are the five new bags to check out this month:

Longchamp x Pokémon

Hot on the heels of its My Pliage Signature line, Longchamp has launched an exciting collaboration with Pokémon this round, and the star of the collection is none other than the adorable Pikachu. Available in four different designs—in LGP canvas, in embossed leather, in a limited-edition numbered leather, and in black canvas—the French Maison’s iconic Le Pliage bags are given an electrifying (and super kawaii) touch.

In a statement by the brand, its artistic director Sophie Delafontaine says, “Our Le Pliage bag has become a platform where all the different aspects of Longchamp can be expressed and can also take us to unknown places. We hadn’t explored entertainment and gaming before. It’s a very inspiring world, particularly with Pokémon and its iconic mascot, Pikachu. Our two worlds, real and virtual, blend perfectly in this collaboration.” Brb, gotta catch ‘em all…

The Longchamp x Pokemon collection is shoppable in its The Gardens, Pavilion, and Suria KLCC stores. Home delivery service is available.

Coach x Jennifer Lopez Hutton bag

A year after Jennifer Lopez was announced as the new global face of Coach, the superstar has finally designed her first bag for the fashion house. Dubbed the Hutton, the arm candy—designed alongside creative director Stuart Vevers—comes in a rectangular shape that is versatile yet timeless, and to give it a more stylish finish, the feminine hues are juxtaposed with snakeskin trim. Regardless of whether it’s for work or play, it’ll make a great day-to-night bag.

Jennifer Lopez shares in a statement, “Designing my first bag with Coach was a great experience. I really wanted the Coach x Jennifer Lopez Hutton to feel like me. The colourblock leather and polished hardware details are really my style. It’s a bag that makes me look pulled together and ready for anything, and I can’t wait to share it with everyone.”

Furla Metropolis

It’s impossible to think about Furla without having the Metropolis bag come to mind, but this season, the brand has updated its best-sellers by introducing new shapes and colours to the collection. On top of the square and rectangular designs that we’re all familiar with, the new collection features two models in rounded shapes (one with a shoulder strap and another with a top-handle), and one in a long rectangular shape that’s perfect for your phone and more.

If the new silhouettes are not eye-catching enough, aside from black and white, the bags also come in a vibrant colour palette that consists of electric blue, fiery red, yellow, and orange. They’ll give the simplest of outfits that perk-me-up, that’s for sure.

The Furla Metropolis collection is now available in-stores.

Burberry Olympia bag

From launching its first bag campaign (starring Bella Hadid) to introducing face masks, Burberry has been on a roll the past few months. Its latest product? A brand new bag that was first unveiled during its Autumn/Winter 2020 show back in February—the Olympia bag.

Designed by Riccardo Tisci, the shoulder bag’s focal point is its crescent shape that’s inspired by the architecture of the show venue, Kensington Olympia in London, and coincidentally, it’s also one of the trending bag silhouettes this year.

The Burberry Olympia carrier comes in three different sizes, and colour-wise, the first drop is available in black, warm tan, burgundy, Juniper Green, Light Biscuit (our favourite), and knitted tartan.

Dior Men Soft Saddle

Love the Dior Saddle but can never fit all your knick-knacks in one? The latest version is made for you. Introduced by creative director Kim Jones during the AW20 show earlier this year, the bags are reinterpreted in a hobo shape for men (and women).

Aside from its roomy interior (that can fit a 13-inch laptop!), we also love how it comes with a removable leather shoulder strap that allows you to carry it in different ways. If you’re looking for one in a smaller version, the Soft Saddle also comes in a mini size, and both designs are available in supple calfskin leather or the iconic Oblique print.

The Dior Men Soft Saddle bags are now in-store.
