Henry Golding and Emilia Clarke set to star in 'Last Christmas'
Crazy Rich Asians didn't just open the world's eyes to the city of Singapore (and a fair share of Malaysia), it also introduced what is possibly the biggest breakout star of the year to the film industry—we are of course talking about Henry Golding. Straight off the success of Crazy Rich Asians and his second film A Simple Favor, it has just been announced that Golding is set to star in a holiday romance film with Games of Thrones star Emilia Clarke.
Titled Last Christmas, the film will be based in London, with a screenplay by acclaimed actress and screenwriter Emma Thompson along with playwright Bryony Kimmings. It will be directed by Paul Feig, who also recently worked with Golding in A Simple Favor. Could this be a new actor-director combo for the long run? We sure hope so.
In an interview with Radio Times, Kimmings mentioned that the idea for the film came from Thompson, her husband Greg Wise, and the late George Michael—it was based on his band Wham!'s classic hit of the same name. Not much else has been unveiled, but we'd imagine Last Christmas will be released during the holiday season in the near future. Keep your eyes peeled for more updates.
