Know your fashion A-Z with Louis Vuitton’s new book

Did you know that although Louis Vuitton was founded in 1854, the brand only started producing women’s ready-to-wear collections 144 years later, in 1998? Now, to mark the 20th year, the French fashion house is launching its first-ever book that highlights the years of collections under two artistic directors—Marc Jacobs (who took the helm from 1998 to 2013) and Nicolas Ghesquière, who is still with the brand. Made up of 632 pages and 1,350 images, the work from both designers will be presented via runway photography, and among them, are snippets of its famed collaborations with artists such as Takashi Murakami, Richard Prince and Stephen Sprouse. The introduction of the book was written by the Fashion Editor at the Financial Times, Jo Ellison, and the collection texts are by Louise Rytter, who was previously the Assistant Curator at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
