Designed by Arne Jacobsen for Copenhagen’s SAS Royal Hotel (now known as Radisson Blu Hotel) in 1958, the Egg chair is easily one of the most recognisable designer chairs of all time; timeless and elegant, with distinctive curves that carry an air of modernism. To celebrate its 60th anniversary, manufacturer Fritz Hansen has enhanced the Egg chair with exclusive materials. Grounded by a base of 23-karat gold-coated aluminium, the special edition lounge chair is covered in luxurious leather in a soft coral hue that will age with grace, obtaining a more vintage look with time. 
Along with the Egg chair, Jacobsen also designed the Swan and the Drop chairs for the hotel back then. For its milestone anniversary, the Swan chair takes after the Egg in the same beautiful leather. The more minimalist Drop chair, on the other hand, is upholstered in structured Sera wool fabric in a neutral grey-brown shade.
All three special edition chairs will feature a 60th anniversary leather engraving with numbering. The Egg and Swan chairs will be limited to just 1958 pieces each, a homage to the year they were created, while the Drop chair will be available in stores until 31 December 2018.
