Where to go last-minute shopping to elevate your home just in time for Raya
Is your home guest-ready yet?

Raya is just one week away! So you’ve got your outfits sorted from top to toe (with the beauty looks to match), perhaps a little self-pampering or two slotted in, and the house looks spick and span—all ready to receive your friends and family this festive season. What’s left to do? Well, it sure wouldn’t hurt to elevate your home further with an array of statement pieces or nostalgia-inducing homeware that will look great for Raya and beyond. Here’s where to go looking for the perfect finishing touch:

Nala Designs

Add a splash of colours and character to your couch with Nala Designs’ cushion covers. Inspired by Asian culture and heritage, her ever-delightful prints are sure to brighten any corner they find home in. P.S. she has a collection of really pretty baju kurungs for Raya 2019 too.

Cassey Gan

One of our other go-tos for beautiful prints is fashion designer Cassey Gan, whose penchant for eye-catching patterns has translated into an assortment of limited-edition pillows for the home.

Ahnya Chi

Drawing inspiration from Peranakan culture, Ahnya Chi’s range of homeware include beautifully embroidered cushions with kebaya-inspired motifs, batik coverlets and hand-woven lampshades.

Kedai Bikin

Another place that invokes nostalgia through contemporary lens, you’ll find a variation of PVC-rubber string-woven chairs and more hand-crafted furniture and accessories at Kedai Bikin.

Syaza Of All Trades

An interior designer with a knack for furniture makeover, Syaza is always on the hunt for old furniture, breathing new life into them so they can be a functional and (good-looking!) part of a home again. While she doesn’t do custom work (it’s only included with her ID service), she does sometimes put up pieces for sale on her Instagram page.

Bendang Studio

Make every serving of food—a quintessential part of any Malaysian celebration—a sight for sore eyes when you present it on a Bendang Studio plate. Check out the new Manisan Raya collection for a delectable variety of local dessert-inspired ceramic creations.

Bendang Studio is available at its store in Melaka and The Linc KL.

Speaking of food, Meykrs turns our favourite snacks into plush cushions that will surely spark joy. They’re available at Naiise, along with a selection of well-designed goods like BentukBentuk’s concrete holders and beautiful placemats by Dayang’s Art.
