For over 130 years, Kutani Choemon has been producing tableware and tea ceremony utensils the traditional way. Using a fine art and craft form that is famous in Ishikawa, Japan, the company creates all its finished products from raw materials, where each item is intricately handmade and hand-painted by expert craftsmen. Most of the company’s products don the traditional Kutani colour glazes of rich blue and white.

But it’s much more than just a series of delicate, beautiful pottery products; looking at this video below, it seems that the process of creating these products are even more stunning. Perhaps it’s the pretty doodle-like design, or perhaps it’s the meticulous method of hand-painting that is just so hypnotic to observe, I would even say it’s like watching art porn.
