NYFW SS16 Day 4 and 5: A nod to the 60s and 70s

A breather from the simple, no-make-up makeup look with sleek/slicked-back hair that seems to be trending currently on SS16 runways (case in point: Public School), DVF spotted blown out, 70s waves pinned to the side with large floral hair accessories, while aquamarine blue eyeshadow with layers of mascara—a lovelier reintrepretation of the garish neon colours that were abundant in the heyday—were made for disco nights.

At Jeremy Scott, the 60s, mod look was headlining, with giant teased wigs and exaggerated faux eyeliner drawn on the bottom eyelash line with coral lips, channeling plenty of drama.

Carolina Herrera switched it up with lighter, feminine looks to complement her pink creations: soft waves with subtle pink lips and plenty of blush; while Jenny Packham had a bolder combination of blue eyeshadow and red lips.
