5 YouTube makeup vloggers we’re crushing on

For many of us, makeup tutorials on YouTube are the simplest, go-to references whenever we’re stumped with attempting to try out a new makeup product, or during the occasional adventurous moments when we feel like going for a brand new makeup routine (such as terrifying Halloween makeup looks). But a major reason why we follow these tutorials has to do with the makeup artists themselves, whose fun personalities and makeup tips and tricks make it easy to follow along and subscribe to.

Here are a few YouTube personalities we’re crushing on for many reasons—from their effortless beauty looks to their bubbly dispositions:

PonyMakeup

K-beauty fans probably already know PonyMakeup, or Park Hye Min (who also is the makeup artist for CL of South Korea girl group 2NE1) thanks to her many versatile beauty looks she’s pulled off. PonyMakeup’s range of tutorials are easy to follow—thanks to English subtitles—and are great for day-to-night transitions. We’re not sure who can pull off pink locks with matching pink eye makeup as well as she does, which makes her one of our favourites on the list.

Jungsaemmool

Not your typical Korean ulzzang beauty vlogger, Jungsaemmool is South Korea’s most popular professional makeup artist and beauty consultant, having established her makeup academy and studio which now does makeup for popular K-pop singers and celebrities such as Lee Hyori and BoA. If you like straight-to-the-point videos with educational tips and celeb-inspired tutorials, Jungsaemmool is probably your best pick.

PearyPie

It’s not hard to want to be like Thai model and theatrical makeup artist PearyPie (Amata Chittasenee), what with her good looks and effortless way of rolling her hair up into a bun in less than a minute (it makes you believe that there’s nothing that bobby pins can’t do). PearyPie’s well-edited makeup tutorials are easy on the eyes and pretty straightforward for any makeup beginner as well.

From Head to Toe

Makeup lover and beauty blogger Jen Chae’s YouTube channel offers a wealth of resources that cover her beauty favourites, style picks, and essential guides such as makeup for monolids and basic eyebrow tutorials. Extra brownie points go to her easygoing personality and talking to her viewers directly instead of the usual voice-over narratives that vloggers tend to go for.

ClothesEncounters

If you’re wondering why style vlogger Jenn Im of Clothes Encounters is on this list, take a look at any of her videos (be it style or beauty) and you’d understand. From DIY curls for short hair to a simple smoky eye look, Jenn’s tutorials are informative as they are infectious—it makes you want to have pearly uppers and lowers as bright as hers!
