DROPS OF GOLD

In layman’s terms, there are invisible mechanisms within your skin that change the way your cells function. These can be triggered by environmental and behavioural influences, such as a person’s lifestyle and daily habits, to accelerate ageing. This is a process that Clarins has coined as “Epi-Ageing”. 

What Clarins has developed in the ninth generation of its Double Serum is Epi-Ageing Defense Technology. Dr Olivier Courtin-Clarins, along with the research team at Clarins, took years to develop the cutting-edge Epi-Ageing Defense Technology. 

First, they pored over the existing research of epigenetics from its origins in ancient Greece to its modern interpretations by authorities through different eras, such as British scientist and philosopher Conrad Waddington in the 1940s and Joël de Rosnay in the 1970s. Then, they began their own research, conducting extensive research and setting up clinical studies. Among the most impressive clinical trials involved the studying of 60 identical twins over the course of five years to fully understand the process of Epi-Ageing and how it can be reversed. 

Following that, the team at Clarins were guided by bioinspiration and biomimicry to test the resilience of plants, as outlined above, to find the most effective ingredient to upgrade its iconic Double Serum. 

It comes to no surprise that when they finally conducted tests on the ninth generation of Double Serum, they found staggering improvements on its test subjects within four weeks. In that time frame, subjects showed a 21 per cent decrease in the visibility of wrinkles and a 25 per cent decrease in the visibility of pores. The appearance of firmer skin improved by 32 per cent, while radiance skyrocketed by 54 per cent.
