5 New designer fragrances on our wishlist this month
The first Gucci fragrance developed by Alessandro Michele, Gucci Bloom is a floral bouquet featuring notes that are carefully extracted from across the globe. Natural tuberose that is harvested from India is combined with jasmine bud extracts—all obtained meticulously to leave a fresh green scent. The Rangoon Creeper is also used in this fragrance, the first of its kind that's used in perfume-making. A native to South India, the flower's shade changes from white to pink then red when it blooms, and has a powdery scent unlike any other.
The latest My Burberry Blush is inspired by a London garden in dawn with flowers in full bloom. Sprightly yet refreshing, the fragrance opens with glazed pomegranate and vibrant lemon, along with a heart made of crisp apple and delicate rose. A floral base of jasmine and wisteria gently rounds off the scent. A head-turner thanks to its sophisticated pink hue, the fragrance bottle sports a horn-look lid in dusty pink inspired by the buttons of a Burberry trench coat; topped off with a hand-tied gabardine knot around the neck of the bottle.
Prada Infusion de Rose
Love your florals but prefer underlying notes of spice to your fragrance? Try the new Prada Infusion de Rose Eau de Parfum—a delightful floral composition that pays homage to the Italian house's heritage. Top notes of Bulgarian and Turkish rose give the scent a subtle depth, while Italian mandarin and peppermint lend a citrusy, refreshing touch to it. Brazilian mate and beeswax from Laos complete the fragrance with a warm smoky trail in its wake. A noteworthy mention is the bottle that is reminiscent of a vintage flacon, all adorned with the Prada crest that was originally designed by Miuccia Prada's grandfather in 1913.
Hermès Twilly d’Hermès
When it comes to iconic emblems of luxury houses, there is nothing more relevant than Hermès' Twilly, the silk scarf that can be worn in a myriad of ways, whether tucked in your pocket or on a wrist. The latest fragrance from the house borrows inspiration from the twirling symbol, aptly named Twilly d’Hermès. A combination of three ingredients (ginger, tuberose, and sandalwood) offer a unique olfactory experience: Think fresh yet mysterious, spicy yet sensual. A ribbon-tie of silk is expertly knotted around the bottle's neck, akin to a scarf.
Carolina Herrera CH Privée
How often can you find a leather fragrance layered with notes of florals and spice? Far and few between, we'd say. Carolina Herrera explores the unexpected with the new CH Privée, a daring concoction of leather and musk—but with a feminine twist to it. Made for the audacious woman who loves the unpredictable, the scent is a combination of spicy pink pepper, addictive Osmanthus, and sensual vanilla that makes for an exemplary fragrance profile.
