7 Ways to rock green in your hair this Brat summer

Have Chappell Roan and Charli XCX inspired you to go green? Here are some green hair ideas to try for the summer.

You may have heard that green is the colour of healing; of life; of wealth; of nature—and this is all true. But green is also the colour of Charli XCX’s 6th studio album LP, ‘Brat’. The critically acclaimed album debuted at number two on the UK Albums Chart, but more importantly, it’s become an instant cultural phenomenon.

With “Brat Green” becoming the colour of the summer, showing up on the charts, the runways, and even our manicures, it was only a matter of time before it made its way onto our heads. If you’ve had Brat on repeat (or you’re just really excited for the live-action Wicked), here are seven green hair ideas you should try this summer 2024.

It’s bold, it’s bright—it’s Brat! If you’re brave enough, go the extra mile and rock slime green from root to end. It’s a great way to spice up a minimalist wardrobe and an even more fabulous way to turn heads.

Peekaboo green

If you want to rock green but need to stay (relatively) office-friendly, this half-and-half dye job is the perfect compromise. Chic and striking, it’s also a super low-maintenance look—no visible roots unless you’re partial to a bun!

Top-down lime

For those who want the look of a full green mop with half the damage, this half-and-half look is the one. Plus, since the bleach and dye is only hitting the crown of your head, you’ll be cutting your hair appointment down by hours without compromising on the vision.

Money pieces (literal)

Don’t want to risk bleach damage but still want a hint of brattiness? Keep the leafy tones to the face-framers. It’s a fun switch-up for the summer and makes it exponentially easier to go back to your natural shade once you’re over the look.

Watermelon Sugar

Spice up your ‘do with a hint of green and channel the fruit of the summer—the watermelon! It’s a great way to incorporate the colour into your locks without committing to a full head. Plus, if you get bored of the look, all you have to do is give your mop a chop!

Chunky streak

Bored of black? Add some texture and intrigue to your hair with a few chunky highlights. We love the nostalgic noughties-inspired stripes—it’s fun and unique!
