This year’s festive beauty offerings are some of the most exquisite we’ve seen, from Chanel Beauty’s collaboration with Valentina Li to Guerlain’s intricate medley of art and beauty. Find our shortlist below:
Chanel Beauty Holiday Makeup Collection 2024
In honour of the upcoming holiday season, makeup artist Valentina Li returns for her second collaboration with the Chanel Makeup Creation Studio and the Cometes Collective. Distilling the wonders of the aurora borealis phenomenon into vibrant shades of colour-shifting pink, coral and rose, this stunning holiday collection is here to bring a touch of warmth and magic into your winter routine.
Starting with the eyes and cheeks, Li has created the Enchanted Night oversized powder palette—an incandescent medley of shimmering corals and pinks—as well as the never-before-seen pearly black-purple Ombre Première Laque liquid eyeshadow. Then, in brown red and plum, Le Liner de Chanel tops off the eyes for a sultry finish. The Diamond Dust highlighter then adds a touch of sparkle to the cheeks and eyes for a hint of opulence.
Li has also created four new limited-edition shades of Rouge Allure L’Extrait and two new hues of Rouge Allure Laque to help you top off your holiday party looks. From brick red to purple-brown to pearly fuchsia pink and more, these intense lipsticks are the perfect accessories for the season. And, to pull it all together is the new Le Vernis collection—two new shades of metallic vibrant pink and deep purple-black to decorate your fingertips.
Dior Beauty Ball of Dreams Collection
Designed by Italian artist Pietro Ruffo, Dior Beauty’s stunning holiday collection invites you to experience an enchanted evening at The Ball of Dreams. Inspired by the splendour of the Palace of Versailles, the House’s icons have been gilded in celestial and floral motifs that truly make for exquisite gifts this holiday season.
The collection includes a range of limited-edition skincare and makeup offerings from the house. However, the pièce de résistance of the collection is undoubtedly the exclusive Bois de Rêves candle created by the house’s Perfume Creative Director Francis Kurkdjian. Featuring notes of chestnut, linden and maple tree, it’s an elegant and comforting woody scent that’s perfect for the season.
And, to elevate the scent experience are three intricate porcelain lithophanes crafted in collaboration with the French House Bernadaud. The first of the three lithophanes draws its inspiration from Pietro Ruffo’s decor, reflecting the heavenly sun against a backdrop that pays tribute to the marble courtyard at Versailles. The remaining two represent the lines of the 30 Avenue Montaigne facade and the Chateau de la Colle Noir of Provence. All in all, it’s a thoughtful, considered collection that goes beyond just beauty.
Lancôme Winter Diamond Wonderland
Lisa Eldridge, the Global Creative Director of Lancôme Makeup, has imagined a fantastical world inspired by the City of Lights for the house’s 2024 holiday collection. The collection comes adorned with an exclusive gold Celestial Rose design, celebrating the house’s timeless French heritage.
The limited-edition offerings include the new Celestial Rose Eyes and Face Palette, a limited edition star-encrusted L’Absolu Rouge in shade 273, a L’Absolu Rouge Sheer Gloss in Diamond Glitter as well as exclusive holiday sets and a coveted beauty advent calendar.
Sisley Christmas 2024
Sisley’s 2024 Holiday collection comes in collaboration with British illustrator Fee Greening—a romantic take on Paris dotted with the City of Light’s most famous landmarks and other whimsically festive additions.
The collection contains three limited sets of Sisley’s best-sellers (Sisleyä, Ecological Compound and Black Rose) a set of the house’s classic scents (Eau du Soir and Izia for her; Eau de Campagne for him), the new Phyto-Noir Mascara Set and a limited edition version of Eau du Soir designed by Greening.
Hourglass Cosmetics Holiday 2024 Collection
In the spirit of the holiday season, London-based artist Katie Scott has returned for a third collaboration with Hourglass Cosmetics for a good cause. The limited-edition collection is set to support Hourglass’ partnership with the Nonhuman Rights Project (NhRP) to secure fundamental rights for animals.
Within this limited edition collection are two stunning editions of the brand’s signature Ambient Lighting palettes. Both palettes are housed in this year’s prosperity-inspired packaging, The Dragon and Evil Eye. Both palettes feature five brand-new essential shades, each of which has been meticulously hand-picked by Scott and hand-mixed to create the perfect blend of pigment and light.
And, as the perfect partner to the palette, Hourglass Cosmetics has also released the new Ambient Lighting Edit Multi-tasking Brush—a versatile, two-head brush featuring Scott’s limited-edition Dragon and Evil Eye design.
Diptyque Holiday Collection 2024
Diptyque’s end-of-year collection pays homage to the season, incorporating holiday symbols and Maison icons into an inspiring festive fantasy. Guest artist Lucy Sparrow’s whimsical, colourful felt creations celebrate craftsmanship and make for a truly beautiful holiday display.
Within the collection are three special edition candles—Sapin (Pine tree), Étoile (Star), and Friandise (Sweet Treat). Each of the candles has been housed in colourful, felt-embellished glass and scented with each holiday delight. In addition, Diptyque has launched limited editions of its fragrance icons, from Fleur de Peau to Orphéon and more.
Guerlain Extraordinary Christmas 2024
There is no other way to describe Guerlain’s Holiday 2024 collection than extraordinary. The French beauty house has gone above and beyond for the season, collaborating with artisans and creatives on its most exquisite collection yet. For its 2024 vintage, the iconic Bee Bottle has been ornamented with a unique jewel. Crafted by glassmaker Pochet du Courval, the bottle features a scalloped motif and bees hand-painted in fine gold, and is sealed with silk thread by the Dames de Table from the Guerlain Workshops.
For Christmas, the bottle is also wrapped in a broad crystal cuff imagined by artist Shourouk Rhaeim. Meant to be worn on the wrist or displayed on the bottle, the cuff is fashioned with an imaginary flower, featuring the house’s double G blooms. This is the Imagine Guerlain Millésime 2024, limited to just 3,300 numbered pieces worldwide. In addition, Rhaeim lends her jewel-encrusted world to the Rouge G customisable lipstick, the Meteorites Sous les Étoiles and the limited-edition Ombres G 888 Regarde-Moi eyeshadow palette.
