LFW SS16 Day 1: Face art and big bouncy waves

Giving the sleek and slicked back hair a vibrant twist, designers at LFW juxtaposed this with big loud waves. Spicing up the trending hairstyle, DAKS opted for a 70s-inspired back comb with soft bouncy curls whilst PPQ adopted a sleek centre-parting do with frizzy waves.

Following suit from Day 7 of NYFW, PPQ also took a daring turn from the trending natural beauty look by focusing on heavy black eyeliner, which was also seen on the catwalk of Paul Costelloe who enhanced this bold look with an exaggerated cat-eye finish.

Moreover, statement beauty looks were all the craze with face art trickling onto the runway with floral face tattoos blooming at the Bora Aksu show and Pam Hogg making innovative use of hair flyaways by decorating the face with hair swirls. However despite these quirky takes, the beauty spotlight was on Zandra Rhodes whose presentation saw dazzling face embellishments and bright multi-coloured eye make up paired alongside pink tennis visors and high ponytails.
