Think of K-beauty brand Laneige and the first thing that comes to mind is its bestselling cushion compact that has spawned a slew of upgraded versions and releases in less than six years since its debut. From 6-in-1 options to compacts that combine a makeup base and essence in one, Laneige’s cushion game isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
Case in point: The beauty giant recently launched its Layering Cover Cushion that is our new makeup bag must-have for a multitude of reasons. This handheld compact is an innovation in its own right — a 2-in-1 cushion foundation that comes with a concealing base formulated for extreme coverage and to prevent foundation from darkening. With this, you don’t need to lug your concealer and foundation around for touch ups throughout the day (extra brownie points go to its seriously chic, rose gold design too).
The Concealing Base is formulated with a unique technology in a balm-like concealer form of cushion — think cushion, but instead of the usual foundation, it’s actually concealer. The base is made of porous powder components with helps absorb excess sebum, thus leaving a semi-matte finish on your skin. When you’re done with concealing the targeted areas on your face, pat on the Layering Cushion that serves as a foundation to give your skin a bright, pink-tinged effect, thanks to fine pearl powders in the formula. The best part? Antioxidants from lychee skin extracts help to hydrate and keep your skin in check all day long!
Another interesting feature is the cushion puff (named the Edge Puff) that comes with the compact.
