5 Beauty looks from Paris Haute Couture SS16 we want to try

Haute Couture week in Paris always gets us excited, whether the breathtaking gowns presented on the runway or all the stylish OOTDs of FROW attendees. But apart from the usual fanfare, we like to revel in a few good beauty looks that we might actually pull off this season.

Graphic eyeliner was making waves the past week: Armani Privé’s 1930s inspired beauty look included two swipes of eyeliner on the upper lids that complemented romantically with a modern take on retro finger wave hairdos; whereas Chanel went with long graphic lines drawn across both the upper and lower lids, exuding a somewhat futuristic look that resonated with the Princess Leia-esque chignons.

Dior eschewed all the drama and went with a timeless, Parisian-chic look—think bold brows, flawless complexion, and fiery dark red lips. Hair was pinned back in a low and soft chignon with a few escaped strands framing the face. Jean Paul Gaultier pulled out all the stops with a strong Paris discotheque sentiment: bright red lips with orange undertones, heavily-rimmed smoky eyes and big hair; while Maison Margiela paid tribute to David Bowie with colourful mullet ‘dos, sparkly zig-zag adornment around the eyes, and vampy lips—a look that would do Ziggy Stardust justice.
