Estée Lauder’s new eye cream helps ‘filter’ out the effects of blue light

In the last few years, experts have been preaching about the dangers of blue light and what it can do to our mind, body and health. But if we’re to be honest, that has not stopped any of us from catching up on the latest Netflix series or scrolling through our phones late into the night. Estée Lauder is about to make you sit up and pay attention.

Modern energy-efficient lighting like LED, television and electronic devices such as cell phones and computer screens are among the sources of blue light. And our lives are probably dependant on these items. In Estée Lauder’s continuous research into what causes skin cells to become “out-of-sync” (including the effects of night time blue light), it was discovered that prolonged blue light exposure reduces the expression of the per-1 ‘night clock gene’. Just one hour of exposure significantly reduced this gene by more than 60 per cent! This can then inhibit our natural circadian rhythm and cellular repair process, which means we could be inadvertently accelerating our skin ageing.

The new Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Supercharged Complex Synchronized Recovery is formulated especially to protect the delicate eye area from this assault and also other damaging factors. It has a 24-hour hydrating triple action treatment to actively repair, reducing the key signs of ageing including lines, puffiness and dryness; brightens the look of dark circles; and helps prevent against free radical damage with its 8-hour anti-oxidant protection. So you can rest easy knowing you are supported when it comes to major skin damaging assaults like lack of sleep, UV rays, pollution and even blue light exposure at night.

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Supercharged Complex Synchronized Recovery is priced at RM254. Available from 15 August onwards.
