Dior Cruise 2017 show that was held in Blenheim Palace earlier this week was a spectacular, royal affair indeed. While most were ogling over the collection and show location, some of us were more enraptured by the modern Baroque inspired beauty look.

As you can already tell, eyes were the focal point of this look which best highlights the modern facet of the collection. “I used the deep bronze shade from the 5 Couleurs palette Parisian Sky, which I applied as a colour-block in a single sweep over the entire eyelid, from the lash root to the eyebrows,” says Peter Philips. “This extreme look was chosen to contrast with the Baroque beauty of the décor.” Eyebrows were brushed in subtle strokes with Diorshow Brow Chalk to keep the focus on the eyes.

If the eye look is a smidgen too bold for your taste, emulate the luminous complexion that does wonders to structure the facial contours. “After evening out the complexion with Diorskin Forever Fluid Foundation, I created shape by gently contouring with the DiorBlush Light & Contour jumbo stick,” says Philips. “Applied to the hollows of the cheeks as well as the parts of the face that catch the light, its two shades enabled us to emphasize the architecture of the face in a nuanced and transparent way.” A dusting of iridescent Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer was applied for a natural and luminous result.

Lips and nails were kept natural to complement the overall look. A slick of light peach shade of Dior Addict Gloss in Gorgeous was all that’s needed for the lips, while nails were naturally elegant with Dior Vernis in Muguet 108.
