If you always wanted to inject a pop of colour into your beauty look but fear looking like a teenager from the 1980s gone overboard with neon makeup, fret not! There are a multitude of ways you can bring on different tones to your makeup, but the rule of hand is not to combine them all at one go (for obvious reasons). Here is how you can incorporate the beautiful colours of sunrise via Chanel’s Spring 2016 makeup collection:
Use a light-diffusing blush
The simplest way to add a little colour to your complexion is with a blush that works wonders. With interlacing ribbons of fuchsia pink, soft coral, intense red, coppery beige and fresh pink, Chanel Sunkiss Ribbon is inspired by the sky during dawn and offers a natural glow that diffuses light.
Tip: You can either sweep the blush over the entire face as a finishing touch, apply as a satin blush just beneath the cheekbones, or use as a wash of colour to emphasise the temples and forehead.
Paint your peepers

Chanel’s Les 4 Ombres Tissé Beverly Hills is a eyeshadow quad with four pretty hues to mimic sunrise by the ocean: turquoise, mauve, pearlescent silver-beige and bold purple. Use this for a day-to-night look, or alternatively, saturate your eyes with the ultra pigmented Chanel Illusion D’Ombre for a party-ready look.
Tip: Go with either turquoise or mauve from Chanel Les 4 Ombres Tissé Beverly Hills as your main crease colour, and apply the silver-beige to the inner corners of your eyes. For the evening, line your eyes with the bold purple from the quad or Chanel Illusion D’Ombre in Griffith Green/Ocean Light using an angled brush for a pop of colour.
Take the easy way out
Next to blush, a bright lipstick is only the best and easiest way of standing out. Chanel L.A Sunrise offers three vivid hues in the form of Rouge Coco Shine, a hydrating sheer lip shine that you can take on depending on the occasion and your ensemble. Go with Energy, an intense raspberry, for a more smouldering night out; or Mighty, an exalting pink for a super girly look. And if you’re feeling bold, jazz it up with Shipshape, a punchy orange.
Nailing it
While blue nails don’t float everyone’s boats, why not try a shade that is in between blue and purple for subtle drama? Chanel Le Vernis Nail Gloss in Sunrise Trip is a rich amethyst hue that shimmers under the sunlight, thanks to its glossy formula.
Chanel L.A. Sunrise Collection is now available at all Chanel Fragrance & Beauty Boutiques at 1 Utama, Sunway Pyramid, Gurney Plaza, JB Komtar and at Chanel counters at all leading departmental stores.
