Meet the star-studded cast of Kenzo’s SS17 campaign

If you haven’t known already, Kenzo has steadily made diversity a part of its DNA—remember its H&M collaboration? The Parisian brand continues to scout new talents and help introduce their work to the world, as seen in its latest ad campaign. This Spring, creative directors, Humberto Leon and Carol Lim  cast entertainers, actress Tracee Ellie Ross, actor Jessie Williams and musician, Kelsey Lu. L.A.-based twin photographers, Jalan and Jibril Durimel, or also known as Durimel, were commissioned to photograph the star-studded cast. This marks the duo’s first global ad campaign for Kenzo.

Additionally, all three stars will be featured in an upcoming Kenzo short film, ‘Music is My Mistress’, accompanying Durimel’s campaign visuals. The short is written and directed by Khalil Joseph, a Grammy nominee who is one of the key forces behind Beyoncé’s ‘Lemonade’ HBO spectacular. Kenzo described that the film will showcase music as “much more than mere sound and rhythm. This story casts music herself as the central character of an unfolding drama across cultures, space, and time.” While we anticipate the short’s debut on February 9, in the meantime, let’s feast our eyes on the campaign photos below:
