A look at our favourite limited-edition liquor bottles and cans that have been crafted just for the Chinese New Year 2026 festive season.

The Chinese New Year season brings with it a bunch of food-related traditions and customs that are seen as ways to invite fortune and wealth. Arguably the most important of the lot is the reunion dinner and the simple act of getting together with loved ones to usher in the new year. At these gatherings, you’ll see dishes that are believed to be symbols of prosperity and most of the time, they’re accompanied by a chilled boozy drink for the yamseng session, of course. To add to the celebrations, some of our favourite labels have released special runs of limited-edition labels and bottles, paying homage to the grand nature of the season. A couple of them even take things to the next level of creativity by partnering with artists for their projects.  Here are some of our favourites from this year.

JOHNNIE WALKER X ROBERT WUN

Johnnie Walker has joined hands with Hong Kong-born artist Robert Wun, who brings his surrealist, sculptural forms to the brand’s bottles. In celebration of this year’s Chinese zodiac, the main character of his work is a dynamic horse in full stride alongside flowing fabrics that echo the complexity and layers of Johnnie Walker Blue Label and XR 21.

HENNESSY

The horse takes the spotlight on Hennessy’s Chinese New Year 2026 limited-edition bottles, highlighting its power and forward motion. The Hennessy V.S.O.P, X.O, and Paradis are donned in bold metallic hues, embellished with some bold red elements as a symbol of prosperity.

ROYAL SALUTE

Royal Salute has unveiled its Lunar New Year Special Edition bottle, featuring none other than its signature 21 Year Old blend and artwork by British artist Emily Carter. Featuring vivid motifs of peonies, cranes, lions, and fireworks, the bottle pays homage to the spirit of celebration and the brand’s heritage.

HIBIKI

In the spirit of festive gifting, The House of Suntory has introduced the Hibiki Premium Gift Edition just in time for Chinese New Year. Featuring the Hanaguruma pattern, floating clouds, plum blossoms, cherry blossoms, and autumn leaves, the box is a tribute to the changing seasons and progress towards a bright new year.

CARLSBERG

Carlsberg’s signature hop leaf is accompanied by symbols of nobility and good fortune on this year’s Chinese New Year limited-edition cans and bottles. Inspired by the horse and Chinese lacquer art, the packaging design features crimson, gold, and the brand’s iconic jade green—an unbeatable combination for a bold gallop into the Year of the Horse.
