The realme 15 Pro Packs Style and Performance for the Modern User

The mobile landscape never slows down, and neither does realme. Fresh off the release of the 14 series earlier this year, the Chinese smartphone brand now introduces the realme 15 series, comprising the realme 15 and the realme 15 Pro. Both arrive with a slim silhouette refined by luxury-inspired materials, bringing a touch of elegance to everyday tech. The realme 15 series also debuts AI Edit Genie, a world-first feature designed to reimagine mobile photography.

Truth be told, realme wasn’t a brand I knew well. I’d seen their phones around, but never really learned the models. That unfamiliarity was exactly what made me interested in the realme 15 Pro—it felt like a chance to see what I’d been missing. As someone who only recently shifted to Android, I wanted to know if this device could cut through the noise of an already crowded field.

For the past week, the realme 15 Pro has been my everyday companion. I’ve taken it out to snap photos, tested its battery life, explored its editing tools, and carried it everywhere from coffee shops to evening walks. If you’re curious about what realme brings to the table, here’s what stood out to me about the latest gadget.

DESIGN THAT FEELS RIGHT

The realme 15 Pro’s homescreen

Unboxing the realme 15 Pro is an experience in itself. The vibrant yellow box gives nothing away, so the reveal of Flowing Silver feels like a plot twist. It’s not plain silver at all—its marble-like swirls echo the artistry of couture ateliers, where texture speaks as loudly as colour. It’s tech dressed up in fashion. If silver isn’t your shade, the Velvet Green model steps in with the same sense of opulence that velvet brings to couture. Together, they prove smartphones don’t have to play it safe when it comes to style.

Flip it over, and the 6.8-inch display immediately draws you in. The 4D Curve+ edges flow gently for a smooth grip, while Corning Gorilla Glass keeps it protected from scratches and daily wear. Another detail worth noting is the weight. At 187g, the realme 15 Pro doesn’t feel heavy, yet carries enough presence to feel premium and steady in hand. Even after long stretches of use, it remains comfortable, resting naturally in your palm without strain.

Living in Malaysia means plenty of sunny days, and the 6,500-nit peak brightness makes all the difference. The display stays crisp and vivid outdoors, keeping every detail clear and easy on the eyes. Another feature I often overlook is waterproofing, and the realme 15 Pro doesn’t disappoint. With an IP69 rating, it keeps dust completely out and can shrug off rain, spills, or even an accidental dip in the sink.

NEXT-GEN SNAPS

The realme 15 Pro’s camera setup

The realme 15 Pro comes with a triple 50MP camera setup—main, ultra-wide, and front—making it a versatile gadget for anyone constantly on the move. Since my work often has me out and about all day, I was excited to put it to the test, and it proved solid. Photos come out sharp and often need little to no editing, which is a huge time-saver when juggling multiple assignments.

Zooming in is a breeze, with options from 2x to 20x, allowing me to capture distant subjects without losing clarity. Another feature I appreciate is the ability to add watermarks after taking a shot. Forgot to turn it on before snapping? No worries—you can apply it later, with a wide variety of watermark styles to choose from, ensuring your images always look polished and professional.

Videography is another strong point of the realme 15 Pro. With 4K recording at 60FPS, the footage came out smooth and stable, capturing fine details and vibrant colours even in fast-moving scenes. The front camera is also surprisingly sharp for video, making it easy to film high-quality selfies or vlogs on the go.

With the basics out of the way, I decided to explore the AI features, and a few instantly caught my attention. There’s the AI Glare Remover for clearing annoying reflections, AI Erase to get rid of unwanted objects, and AI Party Mode for bright low-light portraits.

But the real game-changer? The industry-first AI Edit Genie. I’ve tried AI tools on other smartphones before, but this one is on another level. Just type or speak a simple command—whether it’s adjusting backgrounds or adding extra details—and the technology handles all the heavy lifting. Plus, it supports three languages—Malay, English, and Chinese—putting limitless creative options at your fingertips.

SMOOTH OPERATOR

The realme 15 Pro’s app drawer

The realme 15 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, and having used similar processors before, I’m well aware of its capabilities. Multitasking is seamless, with no noticeable lag even when juggling multiple apps. The 144Hz refresh rate further enhances the experience, making visuals fluid and responsive—ideal for gamers and content creators alike.

Heat isn’t an issue either. The realme 15 Pro features a 7000mm² AirFlow VC, a single-layer Giant VC that outperforms dual-layer systems. It keeps the device cool and performance stable during intense gaming, high-demand tasks, or editing content.

On the battery side, the realme 15 Pro packs a 7000mAh Titan Battery—the thinnest in its range—which makes the smartphone surprisingly comfortable to hold. With this kind of capacity, it easily lasts a full day of heavy use, leaving me with around 60 per cent by nightfall. Charging is equally impressive: a quick 25-minute top-up gets you to 50 per cent, while a full charge takes roughly an hour.

All things considered, the realme 15 Pro is shaping up to be a strong player in the mid-range space. Its slim profile, robust camera system, and intelligent AI tools make it a compelling choice for those who value performance and innovation. There’s clearly more to uncover, and I’m excited to see just how far the realme 15 Pro can go.

The realme 15 Pro is now available for purchase, starting from RM 1,799. Check out the official realme website for more details.
