Sophisticated innovation: IWC Schaffhausen’s Portofino Hand-Wound Monopusher

Pioneers of technical creativity since 1868, IWC Schaffhausen welcomes its latest addition to the Portofino watch family, a new haute horlogerie—the Portofino Hand-Wound Monopusher. Featuring a single push-button chronograph that measures time up to 60 minutes, this first-ever model is available in two variations; in white gold with a slate-coloured dial paired and grey Santoni alligator leather strap, as well as in an 18-carat red gold version with a silver-plated dial and brown Santoni alligator leather strap.

Staying true to its tradition, the timepiece houses a sophisticated technical feature that is well integrated in its crown. With a subtle appearance that is almost undetectable to the eye, the discreet yet multifunctional push-button is able to start, stop and reset the chronograph, proving to be not only an invention of aesthetic simplicity but inventive functionality. The new model additionally features a sapphire glass back, exposing its intricate inner mechanism that comprises of the 59360 calibre—a 192-hour movement ornamented with Geneva stripes.
