Richard Mille's new watch reeks of sex
Fulfil your fantasies
As a tribute to the innovation of past generations, Richard Mille crafts a playful limited-edition masterpiece that evokes its wearer's desires and mechanically recreates bedroom scenes.
Born as a play on the theme of libertinism, erotic timepieces were often confiscated and banned due to their conflict against conservative moral, religious and political customs. However, like all forbidden love, the most pleasurable things are often best enjoyed in secret. In contrast to its modest beginnings, the creation now openly proclaims eroticism and passion through words displayed proudly on the wrist, playing on the longing to express sensuality and even sexuality.
Designed in collaboration with Audemars Piguet Renaud & Papi, the RM 69 comprises of 505 components and 41 jewels, with grade 5 titanium bridges and baseplate that form its manual-winding tourbillon calibre. Due to its unique Duoplan construction, the tourbillon and barrel are aligned on the same axis, enabling the watch to be extremely compact whilst revealing its elaborate configuration.
In addition to its PVD-treated, micro-blasted and satin-finished surfaces, the calibre is also circular-grained, bevelled, mirror-finished and features hand-polished sinks, yielding excellent finishes that reflect the brand's commitment to its aesthetics. Encasing the calibre is a tripartite case, assembled with 20 Spline screws and grade 5 titanium to not only achieve its ergonomic and extremely comfortable finish, but also stay water-resistant for up to 50 metres.
Testifying to the brand's quest for high performance, the watch displays a 69-hour power reserve at a new aperture at 4 o'clock. Following this, the creation offers its wearers the pure pleasure of the new Richard Mille 'Oracle' complication, a mechanism that uncovers its wearer's deepest desires on three grade 5 titanium engraved rollers, which operate by pressing a button located at 10 o'clock.
To enhance the brand's devotion to innovation, the timepiece further features a mechanism that allows the hands to break free from the geartrain. When the push-piece at 8 o'clock is activated, the movement's hands withdraw to visually release the rollers, which shortly after, automatically return to its correct position in time.
This 30-piece limited edition will be available exclusively in Richard Mille's 24 boutiques worldwide. For more information, visit the website.
