For members only: The Omega House on Ipanema Beach in Rio
Famous for its vibrant carnivals, beaches, and of course, football, Rio de Janeiro is teeming with activity as international contingents and supporters begin arriving in the city for the world's biggest summer sporting event. Joining in the occasion as Official Timekeeper of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, Omega unveiled its exclusive residence and members-only club for the upcoming Games.
The Omega House concept first launched in the last Games in London. Then, the House of St. Barnabas in Central London's Soho neighbourhood was remodelled into a private club where Omega hosted parties and tended to selected VIPs guests, including their brand ambassadors and competing athletes.
This year in Rio, the Omega House takes over the Casa de Cultura Laura Alvim on Ipanema Beach. The location has been transformed into a modern, light-filled space, with themed rooms dedicated to sports timekeeping, space exploration, ocean heritage, ladies' timepieces and watchmaking innovation. Situated on one of the most popular beaches in the country, the house hosts beautiful views out across the sand and palm trees.
