A mythical journey through the historical Silk Route with Piaget

The historical Silk Route is known for its wide expanse of cities and cultures that it encompasses, central to the cultural interaction between the West and the East. Two legendary cities along the route, Venice and Samarkand are hosts to immense cultural wealth, architecture and creativity that serve as inspiration for Piaget Haute Joaillerie and Haute Horlogerie’s latest Secrets and Lights collection—an extraordinary 93 jewellery creations.

Venice’s mysterious allure coupled with its festive elegance is captured in Secrets of Venice through exponents of feather art, enamelling and engraving. The collection’s signature cuff bracelet draws inspiration from a masked ball with a flurry of turquoise feathers perched on a white gold base; the Palazzo ring’s interlacing red spinel and diamond motifs mirror flashing camera bulbs on Venice Film Festival’s red carpet; and a cuff bracelet with pink gold embroidery and marquise-cut diamonds evoke light rays filtering through stone bars on the windows of the Bridge of Sighs.

Uzbekistan’s historical city Samarkand—meaning “queen of the Earth”—is renowned for its preservation of ancient crafts, from silk weaving to gold embroidery. Piaget tells tales of the Orient through Lights of Samarkand, with a Columbian emerald four-leaved flower-ring, a prong-set marquise-cut stone necklace with a pear-cut diamond, and sapphire ear pendants with cascading diamond motifs.
