6 Diamond timepieces to welcome the New Year on a sparkly note

Blink and the year is almost over! After a great Christmas, it’s now time to prepare for New Year’s Eve as 2021 is in T-minus three days. We don’t know about you, but we’re determined to end the year with a bang—after a crazy year, there’s no convincing us otherwise. The best way we know how? Don the shiniest get-up to welcome the new year on a sparkly note. Our roundup of non-tacky sequinned dresses have got your look down pat, but no celebration (big or small) is complete without some good ol’ arm candy.

Instead of layering your bracelets and watches, we’re letting a single timepiece do the talking by opting for diamond pieces that will command all the attention. These watches—which will never go out of style—are great investment pieces too.

Below are six twinkling timepieces to consider:

Franck Muller Vanguard Lady Crazy Hours

Fun yet modern, it’s to no surprise that the Vanguard is Franck Muller’s most famous creation, but this diamond-encrusted design takes it to another level. The timepiece is embellished with over 200 diamonds, and the combination of the icy silver and the sky blue tones is reminiscent of a winter wonderland. Another reason why it’s a must-have? The design is an Asia exclusive.

Bvlgari Serpenti Incantati Rainbow

Need we say more? The Serpenti Incantati Rainbow is the epitome of a party watch. The yellow gold 33mm case is surrounded by a body of a Serpenti that’s crafted from colourful gems including green tsavorites, yellow and orange sapphires, mandarin garnets, orange-red spinels, intense rubies, and pink, purple and blue sapphires. Over 280 brilliant-cut diamonds adorn the jewellery bracelet. It’s truly a work of art.

Omega Constellation with Aventurine dial

Omega has given us more reasons to love its Constellation collection by adding an Aventurine dial into the mix. Inspired by a star-studded sky, the effect on the dial is created when added metal oxides suspend the silvery crystals in the gemstone. And since Aventurine is a form of quartz, no two dials are ever the same. The rich blue hue pops beautifully against the stainless steel and yellow gold case and bracelet, along with diamonds on the bezel and indexes.

Hermès Arceau Horse

The design of the Hermès Arceau may not be as loud and striking as the rest on our list, but it’s a great pick for those who love all things minimal. Available in black or white, each timepiece features 395 mini studs on the leather dial to create an equestrian motif. To tune it up, the case is set with 100 diamonds.

Piaget Altiplano Diamond Pavéd

Can’t get enough of diamonds? This Piaget Altiplano is made for you. Referencing the fields of snow around La Côte-aux-Fées—a village in the canton of Neuchâtel in Switzerland—the diamonds on the watch span across the dial and the case. Two sizes are available, but the 40mm version that’s pavéd with 702 brilliant-cut diamonds has our full attention.

Chopard Alpine Eagle Large

This year, Chopard has unveiled two new Alpine Eagles that are crafted from 18-carat rose gold. While we love the juxtaposition of the Aletsch Blue dial and the rose gold hue on the first version, this design—featuring a Bernina Grey dial and diamond-set bezel—is our pick for obvious reasons. After all, diamonds are a girl’s best friend.
