Behind the scenes: Bulgari’s 2018 campaign with Bella Hadid and Lily Aldridge
Bulgari is all about empowering women through its jewellery collection this year; constantly reinventing the rules to create new artistry, the head-turning baubles lend that larger-than-life attitude. And perfectly embodying that bold spirit, are two of the brand's favourite muses—Bella Hadid and Lily Aldridge—who are the faces of its campaigns this year. Shot by visionary photographer Sølve Sundsbø, the supermodels starred in four chapters that highlight its signature B.Zero1, Serpenti and Diva's Dream pieces, and a brand new line will be revealed in the next few months.
"Being a woman means to take action, to be a risk-taker." — Bella Hadid
Although Bella was previously the face of Bulgari's AW17 accessories and its Goldea The Roman Night fragrance, this is the It-girl's first jewellery campaign with the brand, and what better way to start than with its B.Zero1 collection, which is an icon on its own. Originally designed after Rome's Colloseum in 1999, the new Labyrinth ring features an architectural spiral of white and rose gold that fluidly morph into one another-striking the right balance between tradition and modernity. Bella posed in a series of images that showcases the charm and the versatility of the collection—piled on for an edgy finish, or worn alone that exude a glam touch.
"The Bulgari woman is all about confidence. She's bold. She's unapologetic." — Lily Aldridge
The Serpenti collection has been an icon since Elizabeth Taylor worn the gold snake bracelet in the 1963 film, Cleopatra. The centerpiece of the collection—the snakehead—sees multiple variations over the years, but one thing that has remained unchanged, is the irresistible aura of the pieces. Be it rings, bracelets, earrings or necklaces, each piece precisely replicates the movement of a snake, and they're definitely statement pieces on its own. While the Serpenti line is all about that mysterious charm, the Divas' Dream collection is all about celebrating feminine glamour. Made of a gorgeous mix of aquamarines, sapphires, amethysts and diamond accents, Lily took center stage in the statement-making jewellery that shows off that hint of skin, thanks to its openwork designs.
