How she got started:

Yuna started writing songs at the age of 14. She read law at Universiti Teknologi MARA, and started to gain popularity when she posted her music on her MySpace page in 2006. Aged 19, she took part in a Malaysian singing competition, One in a Million, although did not make the top 20 cut. In 2008, she released her self-titled EP, and by 2011, had attracted the attention of Fader Label, an independent record label based in New York City, who she signed with and released her first international album, Decorate. Yuna has been based in Los Angeles since 2011,


Notable achievements:

In 2016, Yuna released her single 'Crush' from the album Chapters, featuring American artiste, Usher. The song peaked at number 3 on the US Adult R&B Billboard chart, with the album breaking into Billboard's Top 10 Best R&B Albums of 2016: Critic's Pick. On Ghost Ridge (part of the movie 100 Years: One Woman's Fight For Justice) was longlisted for Best Original Song at the Academy Awards 2017.
