Birthday: 10 May 1949

How she got started: Prada was founded in 1913 by Miuccia's grandfather, Mario Prada, and although she graduated with a PhD in political science at the University of Milan, she eventually joined the company and took the helm in 1978. She met Patrizio Bertelli, who was then supplier to the brand, and got married to him a year later. Seven years later, she launched a secondary brand named after her nickname "Miu Miu", focusing on a younger designs with that bit of edge. Today, Miuccia handles the creative side while Patrizio is in charge of the commercial aspect, and together, they are both the co-CEOs of both brands.
Notable achievements: She won the CFDA International Designer Award in 2004, and received the first International Designer of the Year award at the 2013 British Fashion Awards. She is listed as the 79th most powerful woman in the world by Forbes as of 2017.
