Wall speakers as wall art: Bang & Olufsen’s BeoSound Shape
Off the wall music
There are things that work well. There are things that look good. Then, there's Bang & Olufsen that does both with its range of products. But one of their most anticipated items of 2017—that was only recently unveiled to the local market at the Bang & Olufsen Malaysia relaunch at Gardens Mall—is possibly the most spectacular yet. Made with the design-conscious music lovers in mind, the BeoSound Shape is a wall-mounted wireless speaker system made up of a hive of hexagonal panels (between eight to 40 of them).
One of its highest selling point (besides the crisp sound quality, of course) is that it's completely customisable. How you wish to arrange the panels—on the wall or the ceiling, in a circular-ish shape, large or small, in two, three or four colours—is entirely up to you. It doesn't stop there. Your personalised art of piecing the panels together includes choosing the three type of tiles: amplifier, speaker or acoustic damper (which can also be used as an empty tile to hide cables, power adapters or the like).
Behind one empty tile is BeoSound Core, the heart of the BeoSound Shape that grants the system its wireless streaming connectivity. This very hub is fitted with the hardware that supports Chromecast (built-in), Spotify Connect, Apple AirPlay and Bluetooth.
The user experience of the BeoSound Shape is both a visual and audio one. Thanks to the algorithm, you'll find the sound remains centred no matter where or how you move in the room. And just like that, you'll find not just improved room acoustics but aesthetics as well.
The relaunched Bang & Olufsen Malaysia showroom at Gardens Mall provides the ultimate Bang & Olufsen experience for the consumer, complete with a trendsetting BeoLiving room that's fitted with the BeoVision 4 - 85" 3D TV giant. For more info, drop by or visit the official website.
