7 Things you can do this weekend: 17 - 18 September 2016
Long weekend ahead
1. The Laksa Hangover Pop-Up at The KL Journal, 12pm - 6pm, 16 September
Celebrate Malaysia Day with an amazing bowl of Sarawak Laksa, temple-style chicken and more as The Lunch Club collaborates with Cantina Moderna to bring this yummy pop up.
Tickets are available at RM36 from The Lunch Club website while at-door tickets are priced at RM39.
2. Enjoy a weekend staycation at Shangri-La Hotel KL
As much as we all love to travel and see the world, it's also pretty nice to go on short staycation trips in the city to truly disconnect from all the hustle and bustle. Shangri-La Hotel KL is offering a special Weekend Staycation package with complimentary breakfast for Friday, Saturday and Sunday only, from RM468++ per night. Guests may book a second room at RM338++ per night when they book two rooms in one transaction by the same guest at the same time.
For more information or to make a reservation, call 03 2032 2388 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
3. Visit Softsrve to try the exclusive Banana Milk Soft Serve flavour, till 21 October
One of our favourite soft serve ice cream parlours has teamed up with other likeminded Malaysian brands for a Merdeka/Malaysia Day collaboration. On Softsrve's end, they have launched a new limited edition Banana Milk soft serve flavour that can be coupled with your favourite toppings, including a brand new Banana Republic completed with chocolate crumble and caramel sauce.
While the ice cream will be happily deposited into your stomach, there's one lil souvenir you can still attain - a special tee and pin design inspired by the flavour that is launched by Third Culture and Pantun Pin. Collect all three designs at each Softsrve store in Damansara Uptown, Sri Petaling, and the latest addition, Ampang Point.
For more information, visit Softsrve's Facebook.
4. Go! Bon Odori at Publika, 5pm - 9pm, 17 September
Missed the annual Bon Odori festival in Shah Alam in July? Publika is organising one this weekend with the theme "Maneki-Neko", or better known as the lucky cat. Expect a show of dances, a parade, games and of course, Japanese food. The whole festival ends with a fireworks performance at 9.30pm.
For more information, visit their event page.
5. Vive Green Market at KLPAC, Sentul Park, 9am - 6pm, 18 September
Discover more local independent vendors, ranging from fresh produce to snacks to beverages to craft items. There will also be live performances and kid-friendly activities, making it a perfect family day out.
For more information, visit their Facebook.
Firestation.fit has an inspiring new campaign for Brave women. To celebrate, we tied up to give away 10 passes (a.k.a 10 sessions) at Firestation.fit.
16 September is the last day for you to try an ais kacang-inspired ice cream! It's available at Inside Scoop Bangsar as we collaborated with them to bring you a limited flavour called ABC (A Buro Creation). And with each purchase, you can stand a chance to win a 1.3L tub of ABC along with the pre-packed toppings. Find out how here.
