7 Things you can do this weekend: 14 April—15 April 2018

1. Experience World Brewers Champion Coffee at X Coffee The Japan Store, 14 Apr, 3pm – 4.30pm

If you love your coffee, how does drinking one brewed by 2016 World Brewers Champion Tetsu Kasuya sound? For the intrigued, head over to X Coffee this Saturday for a cuppa. He’ll also be hosting a few coffee brewing workshops on the same day.

The price for a cup of coffee will start at RM30. For more info on the workshops, visit the event page.

2. The Kettlebowl 2nd Birthday Bash at APW Bangsar, 14 Apr, 9am

In conjunction with their second birthday, you can definitely expect twice the fun and twice the sweat. From a huge lineup of classes to local food vendors preparing guilt-free food to pop-up stores for a bit of shopping, it’s the fitness party to be seen at.

For more info, visit the event page.

3. Songkran BBQ & Buffet at Rama V, 15 Apr, 6pm – 10pm

Songkran, also known as the New Year festival for the Thais, is celebrated from 13 till 15 April every year (or rather, the whole week in Thailand). It’s a huge festive season where families get together and Rama V is joining in with a feast of their own. On top of that, there’ll be live entertainment such as a fire dance performance and a Muay Thai showcase. You’ll also get a chance to unwind at the Thai Massage Station brought in just for the night.

Admission fee is RM89 per adult and RM45 per child. For more info, visit the event page.

4. Songkran Festival Food Promotion at Coffee Terrace, Genting Grand, 6 Apr – 14 Apr

Celebrate Songkran with a cooling twist this year at Resort World Genting. Expect a feast of traditional Thai dishes at the buffet dinner such as Laab Gai (Thai chicken salad)—which sounds like “good fortune” in Thai—and Toong Tong (deep-fried meat dumplings)—which means “money bags”.

The Coffee Terrace buffet dinner is priced at RM88 for adults and RM44 for children from Sunday to Thursday; and RM92 for adults and RM46 for children on Fridays and Saturdays. For the full menu, visit here.

5. Pun Competition 4 at The Bee, Publika, 15 Apr, 7.30pm – 10.30pm

End the week with laughter (with risks of cringing depending on your sense of humour) at The Bee this Sunday Pun-day. Whether you have punchlines good enough to stand on stage or you’re simply there to check out the competition (and have a good chuckle), all are welcomed.

Entry fee is RM30 per pax. For more info, visit the event page.

6. Experience a Japanese-style picnic at Nobu Kuala Lumpur

Enjoy Japan’s sakura season right here in Malaysia with Nobu KL’s Hanami High Tea that’s only available on the weekends in April. The set comes in three bento boxes filled with sushi, savoury treats and sweet desserts, including the Sakura Tea Macarons.

The Hanami High Tea set is priced at RM148++. For inquiries or to make a reservation, call 03 2164 5084 or send a WhatsApp message to 019 389 5085.

7. Donate your old shoes, 9 – 29 April

Before you indulge yourself with a new pair of shoes, why not round up your old ones and donate them to be recycled or sent to the needy. In light of Earth Month, Royal Sporting House Malaysia has placed a box in Royal Sporting House, Studio R and Stadium stores nationwide for you to drop them off.
