Where to eat for Mother’s Day 2016 in KL
Let Mum dine like a queen
While we should celebrate our mothers every day, it doesn't mean we can't go all out on a certain date in May. (Because if we were to splurge on them daily, they'll surely disapprove.) After all, if you're looking for something special for her, this is the best chance as restaurants would craft special menus limited to the occasion and offer extra goodies for Mummy dearest. We've rounded up some of the special Mother's Day menus below!
Ploy's exclusive Mother's Day menu, 7th and 8th May
Already a restaurant that serves its own unique style of Japa-Thai cuisine, Ploy has created a special 4-course menu of all-new dishes that will only be available for Mother's Day. Enjoy a delectable start with Unagi Tacos and Ploy Miang Kham as snacks before they serve the appetiser, which is a choice between the refreshing Sliced Tuna with Green Mango and the nourishing Chicken Paitan Soup. We definitely recommend the latter, which is a herbal soup made with exotic black chicken and salted bamboo—unless Mum is a huge fan of sashimi.
For the main, you can choose between the Pan Seared Grouper (which is served in a red onion cream dashi/broth) and the Kochujang Crispy Chicken (think Korean fried chicken-style). To end the meal is the dessert named 'My Mom is the Bomb!' which will certainly delight everyone at the table. A chocolate bomb filled with hidden treasures, the real fun begins when the chef or waiter pours warm fudge on top to unfold its delicious contents.
Ploy's Mother's Day menu is priced at RM118++ per person and is available at both its Damansara Heights and Publika outlets. Enjoy a 20% discount for groups of four and above. To make a reservation or for more info, head over to their website.
Way Modern Chinois' exclusive Mother's Day menu, 7th and 8th May
If Mum prefers classic Chinese food, lead the way to Way Modern Chinois where they have prepared set menus for groups up to four and eight guests. Most of the dishes on the menu are new and exclusive for Mother's Day only with the spotlight on the Steamed Dragon Garoupa with Ginger Sauce, Double Boiled Chicken Soup with Scallop and Wintermelon, Braised Rice with Smoked Duck and Pumpkin, and of course, Avocado Sago Pudding for dessert. Besides the taste, the presentation of the dishes itself will make your mouth water.
Way Modern Chinois' set menu for four pax features 10 dishes and is priced at RM368++ while the set menu for eight pax features 12 dishes and is priced at RM768++. For dining reservations or more info, head over to their website or call 03-2095 1118.

Quivo's Marvellous Moms Mother's Day menu, 6th to 8th May
For something a little different, take your mother to try out Quivo's Mediterranean-inspired cuisine that is all made with the freshest ingredients. The 3-course menu first stimulates the appetite with Seafood Leek Soup before proceeding to either your choice of the Wagyu Beef Scaloppini—imagine succulent Australia Wagyu beef fillet served with pan-seared potatoes, sautéed spinach, mushrooms and grain mustard sauce—or the Mackerel Cartoccio—a serving of healthy oven-baked and wrapped mackerel with julienned vegetables, Kalamata olive and fish sauce served with tasty salsa verde. The luscious Baked Alaska filled with warm cherry compote for dessert won't disappoint either.
