#BuroEats: 5 New places to visit in KL for July 2018

1. Pak Tai Restaurant

An offshoot of the original Pak Tai at The Ritz-Carlton Koh Samui, this newly-opened restaurant serves up delicious Southern Thai cuisine. You can be assured of an authentic spread at the hands of Thai native Chef Guk, who sources fresh local produce and ingredients from the Land of Smiles itself. For appetisers, try the Phla Pla Meuk — squid salad with roasted chilli paste dressing for a fiery start, while for mains, we like the Massaman Nua — a cardamom-scented southern curry with slow-cooked beef cheek that falls apart upon the first bite. Pair your meals with Thai-inspired cocktails for a distinct dining experience.

Address: Feast Village, Starhill Gallery

Opening hours: 12pm – 3pm; 5.30pm – 10.30pm

2. Rawsome Bangsar

Personally, we always feel extra good tucking into something healthy right after a good workout stretch. Rawsome’s latest cafe can do just that as they’ve opened up next to their equally new yoga and pilates studio. The space is bright, airy and full of greenery — even better, they offer bamboo straws.

Address: 7, Jalan Riong, Bangsar, 59000 KL (or look for The Flow – Yoga & Pilates)

Opening hours: 9am – 5pm (closed on Fri)

Phone number: 012 683 4943

3. Eatomo Bangsar

Just when you thought Telawi is out of new places to eat, Eatomo opens their third outlet there, making it even easier for everyone to get their poke bowl fix (among other tantalising offerings).

Address: 21, Jalan Telawi 2, Bangsar Baru, 59100 Kuala Lumpur

Opening hours:

Fri – Sun: 12pm – 11pm

Mon, Wed, Thurs: 12pm – 3pm & 6pm – 10.30pm

Phone number: 03 2202 3280

4. Alta Cafe

Venture a little further away from busy Telawi area and you’ll find yet another new cafe has sprouted up quietly in Bangsar. The menu is inspired by the European cafe scene and the brains behind it — includes the people behind Sitka, Feeka and Food Foundry — makes Alta rather promising. Also, the myriad of ways they cook up their eggs is sure to be an instant crowd pleaser.

Address: 59-1, Jalan Bangkung, Bangsar, 59100 Kuala Lumpur

Opening hours: 8am – 11pm (closed on Mon)

Phone number: 03 2201 0725

5. Maison Des Pains

If you can’t resist your love for croissants, then give in and head to Publika’s new French boulangerie. From the Red Velvet Croissant to the Pandan Baguette to the very Instagrammable shopfront, it’ll definitely be, as their hashtag says, #loafatfirstsight.

Address: UG-63A Publika Shopping Gallery

Opening hours: 10am – 10pm

Phone number: 03 6411 9197
