#BuroEats: Fay Khoo's recommendations in Aman Suria
She's known to have an appetite for all things gastronomically interesting and every week, we finish reading Fay Khoo's column on our site with our mouths watering and our stomachs grumbling. As we're always open to trying out new (and old but undiscovered) places to eat, we asked Fay to bring us to some of her recommended eateries in town and our journey took us to Aman Suria. Check out the video below:
The first stop was a humble shop called Restaurant Famous Seremban Favourites and as Fay mentioned in the video, it doesn't say much of what exactly they serve but as it turned out, the char siew is amazing. Perfectly glazed with the right amount of lean meat and fat, it instantly melts in your mouth. On the other hand, the siew yuk is lean and crispy at the top.
The wan tan mee and Hakka mee are both stringy and flavourful, which are such joyful accompaniments to the plate of char siew. The menu is simple but offers a wide variety of local favourites. Be sure to go early though as it's usually packed with loyal customers.

With our already satisfied bellies, we headed to the second (and last) stop of the day—Kesom. A quaint cafe serving authentic and delicious Kelantanese food. So yes, the usual fanfare of nasi kerabu, nasi dagang, ayam goreng berempah, and an assortment of curry dishes and more. The recommended drink here is the APA (Apa Pun Ada) Drink, which makes for the perfect thirst-quencher on a hot Malaysian day. Note that Kesom is another popular place where the food sells out fast so try not to visit them too late in the day.
