London Fashion Week AW16: Where to go and what to do

London is at its peak season right now as street style stars, models, celebrities and notable fashion  personalities are in town for London Fashion Week; but the party isn’t just on the runway. Sponsors and even non-sponsors have joined in the occasion with their own side events that range from an LFW-themed afternoon tea to quick beauty fix counters. To get the full LFW AW16 experience, these are some of the events you should check out:

The May Fair LFW Afternoon Tea, 19th – 29th February

You’ve not fully embraced the English culture until you’ve had afternoon tea. While you can’t have it with the Queen, you can partake in an afternoon tea at The May Fair hotel that’s inspired by the Autumn/Winter 2016 colour trends. Sipping tea and enjoying delectable treats? It’s just about the perfect way to unwind after a long day at the front row.

Finishing Touches at W London Hotel, 19 – 21 February

Whether it’s your nails or lipstick, keep them all on fleek by dropping by W London Hotel—and getting a drink at the bar. If you do, you can get complimentary beauty and style fixes ranging from express manicures to stylist tips to lipstick touch ups and more.

Behind-the-scenes of LFW at Madame Tussauds, until 21 February

On any average trip to London, Madame Tussauds is typically a must-visit but for Fashion Week, the emporium has put together something more fitting for the occasion: a look and feel of what happens backstage at LFW where you’ll be able to mingle with the likes of Cara Delevingne, Kendall Jenner and Anna Wintour—the wax version of them, that is. You’ll also get to bring back some fashion goodies from LFW’s main sponsors.

London Fashion Weekend, 25 – 28 February

Once LFW is over, the magic doesn’t have to end—because there’s London Fashion Weekend! Head over to Saatchi Gallery again for catwalk shows, discount designer shopping, beauty pampering sessions and industry talks.

Vogue 100: A Century of Style exhibition at National Portrait Gallery, until 22 May

If Vogue has always been your fashion bible, then you wouldn’t want to miss the Vogue 100 exhibition where a series of stunning pictures and visual materials have been curated from the Condé Nast archive and international collections to be put on display to tell the story of one of the most influential fashion magazines in the world.
