Tod’s has tapped former Lanvin creative director Alber Elbaz for its second Tod’s Factory project

Four years after his exit from Lanvin, Alber Elbaz is back in the design chair for the second instalment of the Tod's Factory project, which was named after Andy Warhol's New York art studio. The first—that was launched during AW18 last year—featured Italian fashion designer Alessandro Dell'Acqua, who's known for N°21 and Rochas. This will be the Moroccan-Israeli designer's first major work since his departure from Lanvin after serving as its creative director for 14 years. In an interview with WWD, Tod's chief executive Diego Della Valle has nothing but praise when he talked about Elbaz, saying that "he is one of the few great designers around. His sense of modernity is extraordinary and we are very, very happy to see him restart in fashion with us." After a four-year-long hiatus, we can't wait to see what the creative genius has in store for us. While nothing much has been revealed apart from the announcement, Elbaz did mention to WWD that the capsule collection will consist of mostly shoes and a few bags. To accompany the collection, a flagship store dedicated to Tod's Factory will open in Milan by the end of May.
