A full look at Sometime by Asian Designers’ first international collaboration with Jason Wu
In the bag
Having collaborated with local fashion designers such as Rizalman and Alia Bastamam, Malaysian bag specialist, Sometime by Asian Designers, is teaming up with an international designer—Jason Wu—for the first time, with a capsule collection that will be launched next month. The six Jason Wu Grey x Sometime by Asian Designers bags, named the Edie Tote will be sold on Zalora in six regional markets, with Malaysia being one of them.
Speaking on the decision to partner up, Jason Wu says, "I agreed on this project on so many levels. I love collaborations, and I've done many in my career. With this, it's not just about Jason Wu Grey, Sometime by Asian Designers, and ZALORA. Everyone knows we know how to buy, but what they need to know is we also know how to make. That is something I am proud to share with the world. It's very impressive, and that is my goal."
Available in two sizes and six different colours, the totes are inspired by Jason's love for mid-century art and architecture. The bold colour-block details, in particular, are a "reflection" of Josef Albers' square paintings. Opting for a timeless silhouette, the carriers are given an extra dose of practicality with three different compartments that close with a concealed magnetic hardware, making your day around town that bit more convenient, not to mention trendy.
The Jason Wu Grey x Sometime by Asian Designers collection will be launched exclusively on Zalora on June 4th at 11am, and is available in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
