Princess Beatrice’s wedding dress was her “something old”

Princess Beatrice tied the knot with Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi at The Royal Chapel of All Saints in Windsor last Friday, and while it was an intimate and private affair, her bridal gown, in particular, has been making waves for a sweet reason—it was borrowed from the Queen!

The vintage dress was designed by Norman Hartnell, who had the Royal Warrant as Dressmaker to both Queen Elizabeth II and The Queen Mother. Originally a stroppy number, the ivory number was remodelled with an addition of puffy chiffon sleeves. To complete her look, Princess Beatrice continued her homage to her beloved grandmother by donning The Queen Mary diamond fringe tiara that was also worn by her grandmother on her wedding day in 1947.

Sophie Turner’s maternity style is as cute as they can be

Does Sophie Turner have the cutest mama-to-be style? We certainly think so. While the actress—and her husband Joe Jonas—has never publicly spoke out about her pregnancy, her baby-bumping looks in recent months confirmed it all. From babydoll dresses—layered over white T-shirt or over tank-top-and-bike-shorts—to a cropped top and leggings with blazer look, we’re loving every one of it.

Bali Barret, Hermès’ artistic director of the women’s product universe, is exiting the brand after 17 years. In an interview with WWD, the Maison’s general artistic director Pierre-Alexis Dumas says, “It has been a privilege and a great pleasure to work with Bali for all these years. I pay tribute to a close collaboration over more than 15 years and to the remarkable work accomplished by Bali, who has always animated creation with a demand for beauty, boldness, fantasy and contemporaneity. She has inspired the house with passion and revealed the talents of creative directors, designers and artisans.” Her next move—and her successor—has yet to be revealed.

Uniqlo and Theory’s collaboration is minimalist’s dream come true

Two months after the launch of Uniqlo’s UT collaboration with Billie Eilish and Takashi Murakami, the Japanese Lifewear brand has unveiled its partnership with a fashion brand—New York-based contemporary label, Theory. Unlike the UT line, the men’s capsule collection is all about minimalism and simplicity, with polo T-shirts, chinos, and shorts in muted colours taking centre stage.

The Uniqlo x Theory collection is launching in-stores on August 7.

Valentino Haute Couture Autumn/Winter 2020 collection

Guests may not be able to see the collection up-close this season, but creative director Pierpaolo Piccoli made up for it and made sure the show ignites the same feels with larger-than-life creations that brought us into a realm of fantasy. Titled “Of Grace and Light”, the 15 all-white looks donned by models had colourful graphics projected on them before they were revealed in their full glory at the end. It was a stunning end to Haute Couture Week Autumn/Winter 2020.
