Gucci unveils its Cruise 2018 campaign titled ‘Roman Rhapsody’

For Cruise 2018, Gucci enlisted the help of British photographer Mick Rock—the face behind all the iconic shots of the musicians from the ’70s—for yet another one-of-a-kind advertising campaign. Shot at Alessandro Michele’s hometown in Rome, the shoot features an unfiltered series of “moving and compelling portraits of real people in real places” such as in their homes or neighbourhood. Aside from being dressed in the brand’s eye-catching Cruise’18 pieces, each of them was also asked to bring an object along with them to the shoot. The result strikes the right balance between being intimate and eccentric, and they definitely highlighted the charm of each characters, celebrating the attitude of the genuine non-conformists.

“What helped a lot is the fact that I got constant stimulation from the clothes, Because they’re so fabulous and colourful. And then of course there’s the personality of Alessandro, who’s an open, giving force!” — Mick Rock
