Givenchy’s iconic Rottweiler print is given a graphic makeover
The French brand’s signature dog print gets a new look—yes, it’s still fierce
Since helming the brand in 2009, Ricardo Tisci has made Givenchy a street staple. Enter 2011, the French luxury house reached icon status when Tisci's Rottweiler print debuted on the runway, becoming the unofficial emblem of Givenchy. Inspired by a Boy Scouts book, the growling canine motif was featured on every piece imaginable, from T-shirts to backpacks. A hit amongst the celebrities, stars including Usher, Rihanna and Kanye West were spotted donning the menacing dog.
While Tisci has announced his departure from the House earlier this month, the art director has given the menacing dog a makeover before his exit. No less fierce, the new manifestation sees the logo in a line-drawn format. Realized across a limited edition capsule collection for men, aptly named 'The Rottweiler', it is an extended part of the Givenchy's Spring 2017 collection.
