Fashion buzz: A Yeezy Gap line is happening, BTS’ Jungkook sells out a Prada jacket in more than 25 countries, and more
Introducing: Yeezy Gap
Kanye West has struck a 10-year deal with Gap. As the American retailer recorded a 50 per cent sales loss in the first quarter of 2020, the partnership could definitely be a game-changer for the brand. Mark Breitbard, Global Head of Gap brand, says in a statement: “We are excited to welcome Kanye back to the Gap family as a creative visionary, building on the aesthetic and success of his Yeezy brand and together defining a next-level retail partnership,” noting that the American mogul used to work in the brand’s Chicago store in his teens. The co-branded collection—which will feature “modern, elevated basics for men, women, and kids at accessible price points”—is expected to launch in 2021.
BTS’ Jungkook showcases the ‘Jungkook effect’
There’s no doubt that Jungkook is one of the most popular members in BTS, but lo and behold—the ‘Jungkook effect’ takes it to a whole new level. Back in May, the 22-year-old wore a pair of Prada combat boots during a live broadcast, and it didn’t take too long for fans (aka the ARMYs) to identify the brand—and to snap up the same pair. The boots were sold out within a day. Fast forward one month later, the ‘Jungkook effect’ strikes again when Vogue Japan released a 17-second teaser for their August issue featuring the boy band. The colour-block jacket—also by Prada—worn by Jungkook was out of stock on Prada’s website in over 25 countries not long after the video was uploaded.
The Louis Vuitton x Nigo Pre-Fall 2020 collection is here
After teasing the collaboration back in December last year, the first drop of the Louis Vuitton x Nigo capsule collection is finally here. Dubbed the LV2 (Louis Vuitton Squared), the collection features a range of styles from modern tailoring to street-cool separates that are emblazoned in the French Maison’s iconic Monogram and Damier Check motifs. Check out the collection in-stores and on its website. The second release will be on August 28.
Tommy Jeans collaborates with BAPE
A Bathing Ape fans: You’re in for a treat. After its collaboration with Coach earlier this year, the brand is back again with another partnership, and this time, it’s with Tommy Hilfiger. Its denim label, Tommy Jeans has partnered up with the brand’s diffusion line Aape on a ‘90s hip-hop-inspired capsule menswear line, and you’ll find pieces including denim jackets, polo T-shirts, footwear, and accessories in the American brand’s signature red, white, and blue hues, topped with the iconic BAPE Moon Face logo and camouflage patterns.
The Tommy Jeans x AAPE capsule collection will launch on July 11.

Italian luxury fashion brand Brunello Cucinelli is now in KL! The store at Pavilion KL spans across 189.5 square-meter, and it houses both women’s and men’s ready-to-wear and accessories collection in a clean and natural setting.

Lenny Kravitz is the latest face of Saint Laurent
Like daughter, like dad. After Zoë Kravitz fronted Saint Laurent’s Spring/Summer 2020 campaign earlier this year, her rock-star father Lenny Kravitz is now the face of the brand’s Autumn/Winter 2020 campaign. Shot by David Sims, the two black-and-white images feature the stylish musician in outfits that complement his style, from a leopard-print-shirt-and-tailored-trousers look to a suave combo of a blazer, satin button-down shirt, and skinny jeans.
